Ideal Day Roadmap

Stepping back for a bird's eye view of your day, what do you see happening when?

The Ideal Day Roadmap app provides a quick and easy way for you to create an overview of how you'd like your days to ideally look like.  You can think of it as if you're designing an experiment for yourself, setting a plan to guide yourself through your day, then testing and refining it according to experiences and preferences that you come to recognize through putting it into action.

The app provides you a chance to step back from the details of to-do lists and moment-by-moment tasks and distractions to consider how you want to organize you priorities according to the overall flow of your day. It helps you to set clear time-specific boundaries as to what you want to focus on through providing a framework for you to develop awareness, adaptability, and accountability for your choices and actions.

Introduction

If this is your first time working with this app, begin by selecting the answer to the first question, What type of day do you want?, that corresponds most closely to your typical weekday. Once you've had an opportunity to define, test, and refine this initial daily roadmap, you can come back whenever you like. The idea is to give you the flexibility to develop alternate possibilities as you proceed, as well as to outline how you'd prefer to manage less typical days, such as weekends, holidays, and vacation time.

Perhaps the biggest challenge in working with the Ideal Day Roadmap comes in completing the second question, What are the major parts of this day? . In answering this question, you take a step back from the specific things you want to accomplish day by day and specify the larger frames - the "parts" of your day - in which you'll be accomplishing those activities. To begin, think of these frames as including a few different activities and consisting of a minimum of 2 hours. This is about developing a simplified and flexible sense of your day.

Below, you'll see a few different examples of how other people have answered this second question. In some cases, these people went on to refine these initial answers. In others, these initial choices were all that was necessary to provide the structure to keep on track and maintain a balanced approach throughout the day. There really are no right or wrong answers to the questions in this app. This is all about personal preferences, choices, and best bets. You simply provide details as to your preferences in the moment  and work with the feedback provided as you proceed.

Beyond working with the questions and feedback in this app, you'll see a set of options at the bottom of each page to OPEN, SAVE, DELETE ALL INFORMATION, and eventually EXPORT AS A PDF.  All saved files will be downloaded to the default Downloads folder on your local hard drive for you to organize as you prefer. All saved files begin with the name Daily-Planner, just in case you need to search for them at any point.
